Create your own unique contemporary braided jewellery with artist Aimee Betts, whose work is being exhibited as part of Make It Slow. Aimee Betts, a Mixed Media Embroidery Designer and Creator of Adornments has an ambition to bring the traditions of embroidery to the forefront of contemporary design practice. Based in London, Aimee’s work is exhibited across the country. Aimee’s workshops for Make it Slow and around the country are proving increasingly popular, so we’re delighted that she’s coming to Thirsk this month.

What will I learn?

You will learn cording, braiding, knotting and linking techniques to make your own fabulous jewellery with and will take home at least one braided piece of jewellery or keyring!

Who can attend?

The workshop is primarily at those under-18, but there’s no reason adults can’t attend!

Cost: £10 including all materials

The award-nominated Courthouse Cafe will be open throughout the day for the purchase of lunches, snacks and speciality drinks (and delicious cakes!).
